Thank you for your interest in joining the Adolescent Girls Investment Plan (AGIP)! Before you get started on your application, please keep in mind the following:
Core criteria
Applicant organisations must…
- Have a mission that aligns with AGIP’s vision and strategy.
- Demonstrate a commitment to advancing adolescent girls’ rights.
- Hold meaningful adolescent girl engagement and safeguarding at the centre of its work.
- Demonstrate a commitment to intergenerational, intersectional, and feminist approaches.
- Believe in the power of collective action.
Strategic considerations
AGIP may prioritise applications from organisations that bring:
- Geographic representation – strengthening the coalition’s presence in underrepresented regions and contexts.
- Regional leadership – bringing strong regional networks, relationships and influence that can deepen AGIP’s engagement.
- Complementary expertise – contributing thematic expertise that responds to the evolving priorities and needs of adolescent girls.
- Diversity of organisation types – broadening the coalition through different organisation sizes, models and approaches.
The Member Application Journey
Here are the steps to joining the AGIP coalition.
Step 1 — Apply
Organisations submit an expression of interest demonstrating alignment with AGIP’s membership criteria.

Step 2 — Review
Applications are assessed against criteria and strategic considerations. If unsuccessful, the applicant will be informed at this point.

Step 3 — Signing of the TOR
If successful, the applicant will review and sign the Membership Terms of Reference (TOR), confirming their commitment to AGIP’s values, expectations, and ways of working.

Step 3 — Onboarding
As a new member, the organisation will receive:
- AGIP Membership Handbook
- Access to the AGIP Member Portal
- AGIP Secretariat orientation

Step 4 — Active Membership
Members contribute to AGIP’s strategic areas of advocacy, evidence, and meaningful girl engagement and safeguarding through one or more of the following:
- Staff time/capacity
- Technical expertise
- Access to resources and capacity building
- Funding
